Oasis Fellowship is Coming to VT this April

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

12:10-12:50 pm
War Memorial Chapel

The theme for the first Oasis Fellowship event at Virgina Tech is "A Christian Community on Campus." All faculty and staff are invited to attend.  We are striving to contact as many local churches as possible to get the word out. Please help us to spread the word by inviting your friends and colleagues to come out and participate in an abbreviated worship service during the lunch hour. There will be fellowship, prayer, praise, worship, and a brief message provided by a local clergy member. See you there.

Coming Soon to a Venue Near You

As a Christian faculty or staff member perhaps you sometimes wish you were better equipped to understand the evidence that supports your faith.  Maybe you would like to be better prepared to answer questions about or challenges to your faith.  Maybe you're not a Christian but would like to hear some strong arguments in support of the faith.  If so, the National Conference on Christian Apologetics may be for you.  The speakers are top flight, it is relatively inexpensive, it is held on a weekend, and it is as nearby as Charlotte, North Carolina.

What are CFF and this Blog About?

CFF @ VT is a non-denominational fellowship of faculty and professional staff.  There is no formal requirement for membership or participation in CFF activities. Those who plan or lead activities in association with CFF are asked to subscribe to a simple statement of affiliation - Jesus is my LORD, my savior, and my God.

Activities offered by CFF vary from year to year.  Currently, we hold a weekly prayer time each Friday between 12:30 and 1:10 pm.  We welcome your participation.  Just drop us a line and we will let you know the location of the next meeting.

CFF also offers book or Bible study groups in various locations across campus from time to time.  Let us know if you have an interest in one of these groups.  We can tell you what's going on this semester.  We also keep a mailing list and send out periodic notices about upcoming fellowship or ministry opportunities.  If you would like to receive our emails just let us know.

We want this blog to assist in building relationships within the Christian community on campus and to make our presence more fully known to students and colleagues.  You can help us by choosing to follow this blog, or by contributing a comment if you feel you have something encouraging to share.  We would welcome one or two more collaborative blogmeisters to help us keep the content fresh and interesting.
